Governor Mark Parkinson appointed Tim Emert to the Kansas Board of Regents in 2010. He currently serves as Vice Chair of the Board.  Emert is a partner in the Emert, Chubb and Gettler law firm in Independence.

Emert is a past president and board member of the William Inge Festival Foundation, a board member of the St. Andrew’s School Foundation, and is serving as the chairman of the Independence Downtown Art and Cultural Advisory Board.

He earned his Associate Degree from Independence Community College. He went on to earn a B.S. in Journalism and a Juris Doctor from the University of Kansas. Emert and his wife, Barbara, have three adult daughters and one grandchild. In his free time, he enjoys traveling and gardening.
