Three New Regents Appointed by Governor Brownback
(Topeka, Kansas) - Today at the Kansas State House, Governor Sam Brownback introduced his latest three appointments to the Kansas Board of Regents: Joseph Bain of Goodland; Bill Feuerborn of Garnett; and Zoe Forrester Newton of Sedan. Each will serve a four year term, expiring June 30, 2018.
“Our state’s colleges and universities help educate and prepare students to enter the work force, and the Regents play an important role in overseeing this process,” said Governor Brownback. “Joseph, Bill, and Zoe all bring considerable talent and experience to the board, and I am pleased that they’ve agreed to serve the people of Kansas in this capacity.”
• Joseph Bain is a partner in, and vice president of, Cure & Bain, P.C., a general practice law firm located in Kansas and Colorado. He received his bachelor of arts from Fort Hays State University and his juris doctor from the University of Kansas School of Law.
• Bill Feuerborn served in the Kansas House of Representatives from 1995 – 2012, representing Anderson, Franklin, Linn, and Miami Counties. He received his bachelor of arts from Pittsburg State University and while in the legislature, served on a number of committees, including the House Appropriations and Education Budget Committees.
• Zoe Forrester Newton currently runs Newton’s Law, LLC, a private practice located in Sedan, and serves as the city attorney for Sedan. She received her bachelor of arts from Binghamton University in New York and her juris doctor from Cornell Law School.
“Higher education in Kansas has a tremendous legacy, going back to the founding of this great state,” said Chairman Kenny Wilk. “We are honored to have these three new Regents join us in our efforts to uphold the history and purpose of this system.
