Improving Teacher Quality State Grants

The federal government created the Improving Teacher Quality State Grants program to ensure teachers are highly qualified to teach. Highly qualified teachers increase the academic achievement of students and school districts.

The Kansas Board of Regents awards Improving Teacher Quality subgrants to local, high-need educational agencies and a Kansas college or university to offer innovative professional development activities to improve the skills of teachers, paraprofessionals, and principals.

Request for Proposals

No new proposals will be accepted for fiscal year 2011 grant awards. The 2011 funds will support renewal of 2009 and 2010 grants providing documentation of adequate progress toward meeting program goals.
