Dan Lykins

Former Governor Kathleen Sebelius appointed Dan Lykins to the Kansas Board of Regents in 2005 and was reappointed by Governor Mark Parkinson in 2009. He currently serves as the Board’s representative on the Washburn University Board of Regents, as a member of the Board’s Fiscal Affairs and Audit Committee, and as the Chair of the Regents Retirement Plan Committee. Lykins is a partner in the Bryan, Lykins, Hejtmanek & Fincher law firm in Topeka.

Lykins is a Kansas State University Foundation Trustee, Presidents Club Member, and Ahearn Advisor. He is a past Kansas Sports Hall of Fame Board Member, a past Alumni Board Member of the Academy of Mount St. Scholastica in Atchison, a past Alumni President of Maur Hill Prep School in Atchison, and a past Treasurer of the Community Eye Care Trust Fund of Topeka.

His professional memberships include the American Bar Association, Kansas Bar Association, Topeka Bar Association, American Trial Lawyers' Association, Kansas Trial Lawyers Association, and the Topeka Inn's of Court.

He earned a B.S. in Political Science from KSU and a J.D. from Washburn University. Lykins and his wife, Judy, have four children and three grandchildren. Hobbies include sports, politics, and traveling.
