CARPENTRY/CONSTRUCTION - ALIGNED PROGRAM


Current Status

The Carpentry Alignment was accepted by the Kansas Board of Regents on March 11, 2009. 

Colleges are granted one year from the approval date to implement the alignment.

State Business and Industry Committee Recommendation:

The committee requested that postsecondary programs provide students with the skills and competencies needed to acquire an Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) safety card.  In addition, programs were encouraged to offer coursework that reflected the skills and competencies embedded in the National Center for Construction Education & Research standards for the construction industry.
