CTE Unit Mission Statement
To provide leadership for the Kansas Career and Technical Education System to meet existing and future skilled workforce needs.

Vision Statement
The vision of the CTE unit is to “lead a recognized career and technical education system that prepares a skilled workforce responsive to the immediate and emerging demands of business and industry.”

Strategic Plan
Strategy One: Develop a new State Plan for Career and Technical Education to serve as a working document to improve career and technical education initiatives within the state and meet all federal guidelines
Strategy Two: Develop a seamless learner-centered Career and Technical Education System for the state
Strategy Three: Align Career and Technical Education programs with business and industry needs
Strategy Four: Enhance program quality of Career and Technical Education programs
Strategy Five: Enhance program capacity of Career and Technical Education programs
Strategy Six: Utilize performance data to improve Career and Technical Education programs and as a basis for strategic decisions
Strategy Seven: Develop Centers of Excellence concept with the state career and technical education system
